Quetta/Karachi – Strong earthquake tremors were felt across parts of Sindh and Balochistan provinces on Friday, with the seismological center recording a magnitude of 5.6 on the Richter scale.
According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake’s epicenter was located at a depth of 13 kilometers. The tremors were felt across multiple districts in both provinces, causing panic among residents who rushed out of their homes and buildings.
The areas affected by the earthquake include Jhal Magsi, Jaffarabad, Naseerabad, and Khuzdar, where residents reported feeling strong tremors. People recited verses from the Holy Quran as they evacuated buildings as a precautionary measure.
The seismological authorities confirmed that the earthquake occurred at a relatively shallow depth of 13 kilometers, which often results in more noticeable surface tremors.
So far, no reports of casualties or significant structural damage have been received from the affected areas. However, local authorities are assessing the situation and monitoring for any potential aftershocks.
Pakistan lies in a seismically active zone, and earthquakes of varying magnitudes are periodically recorded across different regions of the country.
