ISLAMABAD — Pakistan’s military operation along the Afghan border, Operation Azm-ul-Haq (Wrath of Truth), is ongoing, with Director General ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry confirming significant battlefield gains in a media briefing.
According to the DGISPR, 274 Afghan Taliban regime personnel and Khawarij militants have been killed and over 400 wounded since the operation began.
The military standoff was triggered on the night of February 21–22, when Pakistani forces struck Fitna al-Khawarij hideouts near the border. In response, the Afghan Taliban regime launched coordinated attacks across 15 sectors at 53 locations along the Pak-Afghan border. Pakistan repelled all 53 attacks, according to the ISPR.
Pakistani air strikes destroyed over 74 Taliban posts, with 18 checkpoints now under Pakistani control. Additionally, 115 enemy tanks and armored vehicles have been destroyed. Pakistan Air Force struck the Infantry Brigade Headquarters in Kabul and a Brigade Headquarters in Kandahar. Targets in Kabul, Paktia, and Kandahar were hit with precision, with militants reportedly fleeing and leaving behind their dead.
Drone attack attempts on Abbottabad and Nowshera were successfully neutralized. Pakistan confirmed 12 soldiers martyred and 27 wounded in the operation.
Lt. Gen. Chaudhry stated that “there is no difference between the Afghan Taliban regime and terrorists — the world understands this.” He added that Operation Azm-ul-Haq is being conducted on the directive of the Prime Minister and will continue until all its objectives are achieved.
