LAHORE: Chairman Punjab Public Service Commission Lt. Gen. (retd) Muhammad Abdul Aziz called on Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan at Governor House Lahore and presented the institution’s Annual Performance Report 2025.
During the meeting, Chairman PPSC Lt. Gen. (retd) Muhammad Abdul Aziz briefed the Governor about the commission’s performance and key reforms introduced during the year. Secretary PPSC Afzal Chauhri was also present on the occasion.
Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan appreciated the performance of the Punjab Public Service Commission and said that ongoing reforms in the commission would further enhance the institution’s efficiency and credibility. He emphasized that transparency and the supremacy of merit in institutions are essential for the country’s development.
The Governor stated that the Punjab Public Service Commission plays a vital role in ensuring merit-based recruitment in government departments and providing equal employment opportunities.
While briefing the Governor about the PPSC Annual Report 2025, Chairman Lt. Gen. (retd) Muhammad Abdul Aziz said the commission has introduced several important reforms, including the elimination of academic marks from the final results, a move that has been widely appreciated in different quarters.
He further informed that during 2025, a total of 10,576 candidates were recommended for appointment in various government departments after selection on merit, which is a record achievement for the commission.
The Chairman PPSC also highlighted another significant decision taken by the commission, under which non-recommended candidates can be recommended with the consent of the concerned department in case of new requisitions during the final result period. This step, he said, will help departments fill vacant posts more efficiently while maintaining transparency and merit.
