LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal, Sohail Shaukat Butt, presided over a key meeting of the Social Welfare Department, during which detailed consultations were held regarding the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2026–27. During the session, the minister approved the final draft of the ADP.
Secretary Social Welfare Saira Umar briefed attendees on the proposed development projects and their priorities. Director General Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Maal Dr. Shehanshah Faisal Azeem, along with other departmental directors, were also present.
Addressing the meeting, Minister Sohail Shaukat Butt said that under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the department’s development initiatives aim to ensure the welfare and well-being of vulnerable and deserving segments of society. He added that the government is taking practical and targeted steps to improve the lives of the poor and underprivileged.
The minister further stated that in the upcoming fiscal year, welfare projects would be made more effective and result-oriented, while the strengthening of social welfare institutions and expansion of public facilities would remain a top priority of the provincial government.
