LAHORE: Acting on the directives of Provincial Minister for Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal, Sohail Shaukat Butt, Director General Social Welfare and Bait-ul-Mal Punjab, Dr. Shehnshah Faisal Azeem, paid a visit to the Center for Intellectually Challenged Children in Lahore.
During his visit, the DG Social Welfare interacted with the children residing at the facility and inquired about their well-being. Eid gifts were also distributed among the children on behalf of the Provincial Minister, bringing smiles and खुशी to their faces. The children expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the thoughtful gesture.
Dr. Shehnshah Faisal Azeem carried out a comprehensive review of the facilities available at the center. Officials briefed him that children with intellectual disabilities are being provided with speech therapy, physical rehabilitation, recreational activities, and skill development opportunities to help them lead independent and productive lives.
The DG also visited the Center for Independent Living and Development, where he inspected various ongoing programs and reviewed the quality of services being offered. He issued necessary directives to further improve the standards of care and support.
Emphasizing the importance of quality care, Dr. Shehnshah Faisal Azeem instructed the concerned staff to ensure there is no negligence in the upbringing and well-being of the children. He stressed that every possible facility must be provided to create a nurturing and supportive environment.
He further stated that the Government of Punjab is committed to taking comprehensive measures for the welfare of special children, adding that such institutions play a crucial role in supporting vulnerable segments of society.
