Lahore, April 1, 2026: Chairman Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) Moazzam Iqbal Sipra held a meeting with a World Bank delegation to discuss key reforms for strengthening monitoring of the services sector across Punjab.
Detailed discussions focused on the implementation of real-time monitoring of the services sector through Point of Sale (POS) systems. The delegation was also briefed on the upgradation of PRA’s monitoring system under the Connected Punjab Program.
Various proposals regarding the monitoring framework, invoicing rules, and business integration were reviewed during the meeting. Chairman PRA directed that system improvements should be designed while keeping in view the requirements of the next 10 years.
He reiterated that invoicing by registered taxpayers and real-time monitoring will be strictly ensured to enhance transparency and compliance. He warned that strict legal action will be taken against any violations of the electronic invoicing system regulations.
It was informed that the World Bank, in collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB), will provide technical support for the digital upgradation of PRA’s systems.
The meeting reflects Punjab government’s ongoing efforts to modernize revenue collection, improve digital governance, and ensure greater transparency in the taxation system.
