ISLAMABAD — The District Magistrate of Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, has officially declared local public holidays on Thursday and Friday, April 9 and 10, 2026, across the revenue limits of the federal capital.
According to the official notification, the holiday will be observed throughout Islamabad’s administrative boundaries. However, essential service providers have been exempted from the order to ensure uninterrupted delivery of public services.
Institutions exempt from the holiday include the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), Capital Development Authority (CDA), ICT Administration, Islamabad Police, IESCO, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), and all public and private hospitals.
Copies of the notification have been dispatched to the Ministry of Interior, the Office of the Chief Commissioner, the Inspector General of Police, the Chairman CDA, and all other relevant authorities. Officials confirmed that the announcement will also be widely circulated through electronic and print media for public awareness.
