Nurses are the Backbone of Healthcare System and a Symbol of Humanity: Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal

LAHORE: Principal Amir-ud-Din Medical College Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal has said that nurses are the strong foundation and backbone of the healthcare system, serving as the core strength of the medical sector and a bright symbol of patient trust.
He emphasized that nursing is not merely a profession but a noble mission of serving humanity. “Selflessness, patience, compassion, and professional expertise are the fundamental pillars of this sacred profession,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Medical Superintendent of Lahore General Hospital (LGH) Prof. Dr. Faryad Husain, along with other medical experts, highlighted the dedication, sincerity, and commitment of the nursing community. They noted that nurses demonstrate remarkable patience and professionalism even during emergencies, challenging situations, and extended duty hours.
The speakers acknowledged that nurses play a pivotal role in effective hospital management, restoring patient confidence, and ensuring the delivery of quality healthcare services, which is why they are rightly regarded as the backbone of the medical field.
Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal and Prof. Dr. Faryad Husain stated that a strong, secure, and empowered nursing workforce is essential for providing quality healthcare and building a healthy society. They expressed their firm resolve to take all possible measures for the professional training, welfare, and improvement of working conditions for nursing staff.
