Iran’s military spokesman Brigadier General Mohammad Akrami declared Wednesday that Tehran sees no path to retreat following its conflict with the United States and Israel, signaling a hardened posture as regional tensions remain at a boiling point.
Speaking to reporters in the northeastern city of Mashhad, General Akrami said Iranian armed forces were maintaining their highest state of combat readiness, even as a ceasefire with the United States holds a fragile balance.
“There is no way back from this war,” Akrami stated bluntly, adding that Iran’s forces had successfully prevented the enemy from achieving any of its military objectives throughout the conflict.
On the strategic waterway of the Strait of Hormuz — through which roughly a fifth of the world’s oil passes — Akrami confirmed a dual-force control structure: the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy (IRGCN) commands the western sector while the regular Iranian Navy oversees the eastern sector.
The spokesman further warned that any attempt to transport replacement US military equipment through the Strait of Hormuz would be blocked, and claimed that American military hardware across bases throughout the Middle East had been significantly damaged during hostilities.
The statements come amid ongoing ceasefire negotiations and reflect Tehran’s effort to project strength while bracing for potential further escalation in one of the most volatile periods in the region’s recent history.
