Rawalpindi —
Pakistan’s military media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), has sharply rebuked Indian Army Chief of Army Staff over remarks made in a recent interview, calling threats to erase a sovereign nuclear neighbour from the map “not a strategic signal, not diplomatic pressure — but a reflection of intellectual bankruptcy, madness and warmongering.”
ISPR stated that the Indian army chief warned Pakistan to decide whether it wishes to remain part of geography and history — a remark the Pakistani military described as provocative and dangerous. The statement noted that such arrogant, militant and narrow-minded thinking has repeatedly pushed South Asia toward wars and crises over the past eight decades.
Pakistan’s military spokesperson affirmed that Pakistan is an undeniable part of South Asia’s geography and history, and a recognised nuclear power of significant global standing. ISPR added that India has a documented record of state-sponsored terrorism, cross-border targeted killings and the systematic spread of disinformation on the world stage.
ISPR attributed India’s aggressive posturing to frustration over its failure to inflict damage on Pakistan, noting that India’s desperation was exposed before the entire world during what it termed “Marka-e-Haq.” The statement warned that any attempt to target Pakistan would carry consequences not confined to geographical boundaries, but would prove strategically and politically untenable for India as well.
The statement concluded with a call on Indian leadership to abandon its Hindutva-driven rhetoric, acknowledge Pakistan’s regional importance, and choose the path of peaceful coexistence.
