LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Information and Culture Azma Bokhari has expressed profound grief and sorrow over the passing of veteran journalist, intellectual, and founder of Urdu Digest, Altaf Hassan Qureshi.
In her condolence statement, the provincial minister extended heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family and described Altaf Hassan Qureshi as a highly respected and distinguished figure in Pakistani journalism.
Azma Bokhari said the late journalist remained committed to principled journalism throughout his life and upheld high ethical standards and professional values that set an example for future generations.
Paying tribute to his literary and journalistic services, she said that through Urdu Digest, Altaf Hassan Qureshi rendered invaluable contributions to Urdu literature and journalism that would always be remembered. She added that his writings served as a great source of knowledge, awareness, and inspiration for readers across the country.
The minister further stated that the death of Altaf Hassan Qureshi is an irreparable loss to the fields of journalism and literature.
She prayed that Almighty Allah grants forgiveness to the departed soul, elevates his ranks in Jannah, and gives patience and strength to the bereaved family to bear this immense loss.
