LAHORE: Managing Director of the National Grid Company of Pakistan, Engr Altaf Hussain Malik, conducted a field visit to the 500kV Grid Station Gatti in Faisalabad, one of the oldest 500kV grid stations in Pakistan that was commissioned in the 1980s.
Accompanied by Deputy Managing Director (AD&M) Engr Rasheed A. Bhutto, GM Asset Management (North) Engr Anees Ahmed, GM Procurement & Contract Management Engr Sajjad Haider Syed, Chief Engineer Material Procurement & Management, and Chief Engineer Asset Management (North), the MD received a detailed briefing on the operational status of the grid station.
During the visit, the MD directed the Asset Management team to further strengthen condition-based monitoring of ageing assets and ensure timely maintenance and replacement in accordance with asset health assessments.
Engr Altaf Hussain Malik also inspected the ongoing warehouse pavement work and instructed the concerned team to accelerate the pace of work for its earliest completion.
He appreciated the efforts of the staff and reaffirmed NGC’s commitment to proactive asset management and the development of a strong and reliable transmission system across Pakistan.
