LAHORE, June 6: Principal of Amiruddin Medical College (AMC), , has said that medical institutions can secure a distinguished place on the global stage through quality medical education, the promotion of clinical research, and patient-centered healthcare policies.
He expressed these views while presenting a bouquet to Medical Superintendent of Lahore General Hospital (LGH), , in recognition of his outstanding performance over the past year.
Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal said that the Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI), Amiruddin Medical College, the College of Nursing, the School of Allied Health Sciences, and Lahore General Hospital have made excellence in education, research, and patient care their top priorities.
He emphasized the need to continuously enhance the professional capabilities of young doctors and faculty members, strengthen the culture of clinical research, and provide state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment facilities to bring these institutions in line with international standards.
The AMC principal noted that doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, and administrative teams are working collectively with professional dedication to provide the highest possible standard of healthcare services to the public.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Faryad Hussain praised the leadership and achievements of Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal during the past year and presented him with a bouquet as a gesture of appreciation. He said that under Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal’s visionary leadership, commitment to transparency, and tireless efforts, significant and sustainable improvements have been achieved at PGMI, AMC, and LGH.
He added that patient-friendly policies, strict administrative discipline, and the adoption of modern technology have substantially improved the quality of services at Lahore General Hospital. According to him, these initiatives have not only benefited patients from remote areas but have also contributed to the professional development of young doctors and faculty members.
