Aurat Foundation Welcomes Iran–US Memorandum of Understanding

ISLAMABAD, June 18, 2026: Aurat Foundation has warmly welcomed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Iran and the United States, describing it as a significant step toward regional and global peace.

In a press statement issued following a meeting of its Executive Council, the organization said the development marks a historic moment long anticipated by peace-loving people around the world. The Foundation noted that the agreement demonstrates that dialogue and reason continue to prevail in international affairs and that collective efforts can help avert global threats and conflicts.

The statement paid tribute to the resilience and sacrifices of the Iranian people during the recent conflict, acknowledging the hardships endured by civilians, including women and children. “We bow our heads in reverence for the steadfastness and sacrifices of the Iranian people,” the statement said.

Aurat Foundation emphasized that sustainable peace can only be achieved through dialogue, diplomacy, mutual respect, and adherence to international human rights principles. It also called for the promotion of people-to-people engagement and peacebuilding initiatives to strengthen understanding among nations.

The organization highly appreciated the efforts of Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, stating that their commitment to regional peace and stability contributed to diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions and facilitating a historic ceasefire at a critical juncture.

According to the statement, these efforts reflect Pakistan’s constructive role in promoting peace, dialogue, and stability at the international level.

Aurat Foundation expressed hope that the agreement would contribute to greater global peace, security, and cooperation among nations. It further stated that a peaceful international environment would help advance human rights and improve the well-being of people worldwide, particularly women, children, and other vulnerable communities who are often the most affected by conflict and instability.
