Islamabad: An audit report has revealed shocking inefficiencies in Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), disclosing that more than 1,000 flights operated with only one or two passengers on board.
According to the findings, 816 flights took off with a single passenger, while 302 flights departed carrying just two passengers. Despite such low occupancy, the flights were neither canceled nor were passengers offered refunds.
The revelation has raised serious questions about financial mismanagement and operational policies in the national carrier, which is already burdened by heavy losses.
