Tehran/Washington: Tensions in the Middle East have escalated sharply after Iran claimed it launched missile and drone strikes against U.S. military installations in Bahrain, Kuwait and Jordan in retaliation for recent American military operations inside Iran.
According to the Iranian military, the strikes targeted U.S. communications facilities and fuel storage sites in Jordan using suicide drones, describing the operation as a response to what it called continued U.S. aggression.
Meanwhile, the Jordanian Armed Forces said they successfully intercepted and destroyed eight Iranian drones before they could reach their intended targets, adding that the country’s air defenses remained on high alert.
The latest developments came after the United States expanded its military operations deeper inside Iran and reportedly tightened its naval blockade, further intensifying the regional crisis.
The exchange of attacks has raised fears of a broader conflict across the Middle East, with regional and international observers urging all parties to exercise restraint and prevent further escalation.
