SWAT: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Malakand Division, Syed Fida Hassan Shah, chaired a high-level security meeting in Saidu Sharif, Swat, to review the overall law and order situation and counterterrorism measures across the division.
The meeting was attended by District Police Officers (DPOs) from Swat and other districts of Malakand Division, along with senior officials of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD). Participants reviewed the prevailing security situation, ongoing counterterrorism operations, protection of sensitive installations, intelligence-sharing mechanisms, and the operational preparedness of the police force. The meeting agreed on adopting a coordinated and comprehensive strategy to further strengthen efforts against terrorism.
Speaking to the media after the meeting, RPO Syed Fida Hassan Shah said the writ of the state has been firmly established throughout Swat and the entire Malakand Division. He emphasized that no anti-state or militant element would be allowed to disturb peace, adding that operations against terrorists would continue under a comprehensive strategy while ensuring the protection of citizens’ lives and property.
The RPO stated that there are no no-go areas anywhere in Malakand Division and that police deployment has been ensured across all areas. He said the police force is fully equipped with modern weapons, essential equipment, and professional training, enabling it to respond effectively to any security challenge.
Syed Fida Hassan Shah also assured tourists from across Pakistan that comprehensive security arrangements have been put in place at all tourist destinations in Malakand Division. He encouraged visitors to travel to Swat and other scenic locations without fear, noting that the police, CTD, and other law enforcement agencies are working in close coordination to maintain lasting peace, stability, and a secure environment throughout the region.
