Those Accused of War Crimes Not Welcome in London: Mayor Sadiq Khan

London Mayor Sadiq Khan has said in an interview with Channel 4 News that Benjamin Netanyahu and others accused of war crimes are not welcome in London.
Khan said: “Those who commit genocide will not be welcomed in London,” adding that “those accused of genocide must face justice.” He also said that if Netanyahu were ever to visit the British capital, he would press the UK government to take action, saying he would push the prime minister to ensure the law is enforced.
Khan further stated: “I genuinely believe genocide is taking place in Gaza,” arguing that Netanyahu bears responsibility for it. He described Netanyahu as guilty of genocide and said “he must be brought to justice.”
It should be noted that since October 7, Israel’s military campaign in Gaza under Netanyahu’s leadership has involved heavy bombardment of civilian areas, killing more than 74,000 Palestinians, the majority of them women and children. Gaza’s civilian infrastructure has also suffered extensive damage, disrupting sanitation and waste management systems. Hospitals have been struck as well, making it harder to treat those wounded in Israeli attacks. The border blockade has additionally created conditions of severe food shortages in the region.
The International Court of Justice has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and the former defense minister, designating them as war crimes suspects. Sadiq Khan’s recent remarks reflect his stated intent to see that warrant enforced.
