LAHORE: Punjab Police has reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare of the families of its fallen personnel by providing another residential house to the family of Shaheed Constable Muhammad Rafiq, who embraced martyrdom in the line of duty.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, a house worth Rs13.5 million has been purchased for the martyr’s family in Garhi Sultan Shah, Rajanpur, in accordance with the family’s preference. The Government of Punjab released the required funds to facilitate the purchase.
Shaheed Constable Muhammad Rafiq was martyred in 2024 after coming under fire from dacoits while performing official duties in the Katcha area. He is survived by his wife, seven daughters, and one son.
Inspector General of Police Punjab Abdul Kareem paid tribute to the martyr’s courage and sacrifice, stating that Constable Muhammad Rafiq laid down his life in the line of duty without hesitation.
“The Punjab Police will never forget the supreme sacrifice of its brave son,” the IGP said, adding that the force remains the custodian of the legacy of more than 1,700 martyrs, and the welfare of their families continues to be one of its highest priorities.
Punjab Police reiterated its resolve to continue supporting the families of its martyrs through welfare initiatives and financial assistance in recognition of their invaluable sacrifices for the safety and security of the people.
