LAHORE, September 24: Medical experts have stressed the need for continuous clinical research and trials to advance medical science and improve healthcare outcomes.

The experts expressed these views while addressing a workshop organized under the auspices of the Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI), Allama Iqbal Medical College (AMC) and Lahore General Hospital (LGH). The workshop aimed to strengthen the research capabilities of faculty members and postgraduate trainees in accordance with modern requirements.

Vice Principal Prof. Dr. Nadrat Sohail, MS LGH Prof. Dr. Faryad Hussain, workshop organizer Prof. Dr. Tayyaba Gul Malik, along with a large number of faculty members and doctors, attended the event.

Guest of Honour Prof. Dr. Muhammad Asif Naeem, PhD in Molecular Biology, shared his extensive experience in genomics, gene therapy and medical research. He explained the fundamental principles of clinical research and trials, modern research methodologies and the importance of complying with international research standards.

Prof. Dr. Tayyaba Gul Malik said the true success of an educational leader was not limited to achievements made during their tenure, but was reflected in ensuring that positive and sustainable initiatives continued to progress in the future.

She emphasized the need to further strengthen academic and research initiatives launched by former Principal Prof. Dr. Muhammad Farooq Afzal.

Vice Principal Prof. Dr. Nadrat Sohail thanked the guest of honour and all participants. She reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to promoting evidence-based medical education and research, providing students and faculty members with greater opportunities to undertake quality research.

MS LGH Prof. Dr. Faryad Hussain said the ongoing process of research, innovation and academic development would continue without interruption, ensuring that current efforts provided a strong and sustainable academic foundation for future generations.

At the conclusion of the workshop, a commemorative shield was presented to the guest of honour.
