LAHORE: Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML) on Tuesday launched its four-day nationwide Independence Day celebrations with All-Parties Conferences (APCs) held across the country, where political and religious leaders called for national unity and collective efforts to fulfil the objectives of Pakistan’s creation.

Participants said serving humanity should remain a national mission and emphasized that challenges including poverty, inflation and unemployment could be addressed through a system based on justice, public welfare and the principles of the Kalima.

PMML President Khalid Masood Sandhu, Secretary General Saifullah Kasuri, Vice Presidents Hafiz Talha Saeed and Hafiz Abdul Rauf, Joint Secretary Muhammad Yaqoob Sheikh, Deputy Secretary General Khalid Naik Gujjar, spokesperson Dr. Muzammil Iqbal Hashmi, Muslim Youth League President Tabish Qayyum, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Rana Muhammad Ashfaq, Punjab President Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar and Sindh President Faisal Nadeem, along with other leaders, addressed APCs in Lahore, Islamabad, Karachi, Faisalabad, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Sahiwal, Multan, Gujrat, Chiniot, Bahawalpur and several other cities.

Speaking in Lahore and Kasur, Khalid Masood Sandhu said Pakistan needed to move towards the objectives for which it was created.

He said national unity required overcoming ethnic, linguistic and class divisions and establishing a system based on justice, equality and public welfare.

Other speakers, including Dr. Farid Ahmed Paracha, Hafiz Abdul Ghaffar Rupri, Zubair Ahmed Zaheer and Hamid-ul-Hassan, said Pakistan’s defence capabilities and international standing had strengthened.

They stressed the importance of national unity and collective efforts for the country’s progress.

In Faisalabad, Saifullah Kasuri welcomed enhanced defence cooperation between Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, saying a stable Pakistan was essential for regional peace and stability.

In Islamabad, PMML organized an Interfaith Harmony and Independence Seminar at the National Press Club. Representatives of minority communities participated in the event and reaffirmed their commitment to national unity, peace and interfaith harmony.

Similar All-Parties Conferences were held in Sahiwal, Gujrat, Multan, Nankana Sahib, Karachi and other cities, with representatives of political, religious, social and minority communities participating in the nationwide Independence Day campaign.

The organizers said the four-day celebrations were aimed at promoting national unity, strengthening social harmony and reminding citizens of the principles and objectives associated with the creation of Pakistan.
