Modern RO Plant, Classroom Inaugurated at LGH Nursing Hostel, 100 Chairs Provided

LAHORE: In a significant step towards improving the comfort, welfare and educational environment of nursing students, a modern reverse osmosis (RO) plant for clean drinking water and a new classroom have been inaugurated at the Nursing Hostel of Lahore General Hospital (LGH). In addition, 100 modern chairs have been provided to the hostel administration.
The facilities were completed with the support of philanthropists and were inaugurated by Principal Ameer-ud-Din Medical College (AMC), Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal.
The ceremony was attended by MS LGH Prof. Dr. Faryad Hussain, Idris Rana, Dr. Abdul Aziz, Dr. Sandus Tahir, Samar Naz, Saima Fateh, nursing instructors and a large number of nursing staff.
Following the inauguration, Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal conducted a detailed inspection of the newly established classroom and RO plant and reviewed the facilities provided for nursing students.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal said the installation of the modern RO plant would ensure the availability of clean and healthy drinking water for nursing students and contribute to improving their overall health and well-being.
He said efforts to improve the quality of nursing education and professional training would produce far-reaching results and help provide the healthcare sector with highly skilled, competent and professional staff.
Addressing the students, the Principal said that no compromise or negligence would be tolerated in nursing education and training standards. He emphasized that there was no shortcut to success in the noble profession of serving suffering humanity.
He urged students to focus on acquiring comprehensive knowledge and practical skills instead of seeking shortcuts, enabling them to provide the best possible care to patients in their professional lives.
Prof. Dr. Farooq Afzal said a well-trained nurse serves as an important bridge between the patient and the doctor and plays a vital role in ensuring the success of the overall treatment process.
Appreciating the philanthropic spirit of the donors, he said these initiatives reflected LGH’s commitment to bringing nursing education, professional training and residential facilities closer to international standards.
He reiterated that the nursing profession is the backbone of every healthcare system, adding that all possible resources would be provided to nursing students so they could become highly skilled professionals and earn the honour of serving the nation.
