Berlin — The Embassy of Pakistan hosted a vibrant Independence Day celebration today at Pakistan House, marked by patriotic spirit and a large turnout. The ceremony opened with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by the hoisting of the national flag by Her Excellency Tasqeen Syeda, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Germany, to the tune of the Pakistani national anthem. The German national anthem was also played during the event.
Messages from the President, the Prime Minister and the Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan were read aloud to the attendees. In her address, Ambassador Tasqeen Syeda conveyed heartfelt congratulations to the Pakistani community, German dignitaries and friends of Pakistan, emphasizing the sanctity and significance of Independence Day. She noted that freedom is a sacred trust achieved through the ideology and sacrifices of the country’s forefathers under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal.
Highlighting Pakistan’s recent achievements, the ambassador pointed to improving economic stability, growing leadership in green energy and climate justice, and the expanding capabilities of Pakistan’s youth in IT and technology. She also noted the special historical significance of this year’s celebrations as Pakistan commemorates the 150th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam, urging adherence to his guiding principles of unity, faith and discipline for further progress.
A special award was presented to Dr. Senta Maria Anna Seller in recognition of her humanitarian services, empowerment of rural women and notable contributions to community development in Pakistan.
The celebration concluded with an Independence Day cake-cutting, a live musical performance by a Pakistani artist and traditional Pakistani refreshments. The event was attended by a large number of Pakistani expatriates, German officials, diplomats and friends of Pakistan.
