LAHORE: Founder and Chairman of Akhuwat Foundation Dr Muhammad Amjad Saqib visited the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore and met with Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani.
Dean Faculty of Veterinary Science Prof. Dr. Kamran Ashraf, Dean Faculty of Bio-sciences Prof. Dr. Habib-ur-Rehman and Director Veterinary Academy Dr. Muhammad Asif Awan were also present on the occasion.
Accompanied by Prof. Dr. Masood Rabbani, Dr Muhammad Amjad Saqib visited the UVAS Veterinary Academy, where he delivered a detailed lecture titled “Microfinance: Creating Sustainable Impact through Financial Inclusion” to participants of a leadership management training programme for representatives of the Bangladeshi NGO Grameen Jano Unnayan Sangstha.
During his lecture, Dr Amjad Saqib highlighted the importance of microfinance and discussed key issues and challenges facing the sector. He emphasised the role of financial inclusion in creating sustainable economic and social impact, particularly for underserved communities.
Dr Amjad Saqib also shared the journey of the Akhuwat Foundation, explaining its distinctive model of inclusive development, major achievements and factors behind its success.
He highlighted the organisation’s emphasis on vision, passion, integrity, transparency and accountability, describing these principles as essential elements for building sustainable institutions and creating meaningful social impact.
The lecture provided participants with insights into the practical dimensions of microfinance and the importance of inclusive financial systems in promoting economic empowerment and sustainable development.
