WASHINGTON — On the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks, Al-Qaeda’s media wing “As-Sahab” released a 50-minute propaganda video featuring previously unseen footage allegedly of Hamza bin Laden, son of Al-Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden. Titled “A Quarter Century of the 11 September Raids,” the video also includes new images of former Al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri. It remains unclear whether the footage is AI-generated or archival.
The US confirmed Hamza’s death in 2019, but 2024 reports claimed he was alive and secretly leading Al-Qaeda. Saudi Arabia revoked his citizenship earlier this year.
