Funeral Prayers Held for Islamabad Police Officer Who Died in Line of Duty

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Funeral prayers for Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Maqsood Ali Khan, an Islamabad Police officer who died from injuries sustained in a traffic accident while performing his official duties, were held at the Police Lines Headquarters in Islamabad.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, senior police officers and a large number of police personnel attended the funeral prayers.

ASI Maqsood Ali Khan, who was serving with the Islamabad Traffic Police, had sustained critical injuries in a traffic accident while on duty. He later succumbed to his injuries during treatment.

A smartly turned-out contingent of Islamabad Police presented a guard of honour to the fallen officer. IGP Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi laid a floral wreath on the body and prayed for the departed soul.

Following the funeral prayers, the body of the deceased officer was transported to his native area for burial with full state honours.

IGP Rizvi paid tribute to ASI Maqsood Ali Khan, saying the officer had sacrificed his life while carrying out his responsibilities. He said the sacrifices of Islamabad Police personnel who die in the line of duty would always be remembered with respect and honour.

The IGP said police martyrs were a valuable asset of the department and their sacrifices would never be forgotten. He assured the bereaved family that Islamabad Police would continue to stand by them and provide all possible assistance.

He also directed the relevant officers to ensure the welfare of the deceased officer’s family and extend all necessary institutional support.
