Islamabad Police Arrest Seven in Crackdown on Drugs and Illegal Weapons

Islamabad Police have arrested seven suspects in separate operations against drug trafficking, illegal weapons and wanted criminals, recovering 751 grams of Ice (crystal methamphetamine), a firearm and ammunition, police said.

The arrests were carried out on the special directions of Inspector General of Police Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi as part of an intensified security and crime-control campaign across the federal capital.

Five suspects were arrested in operations targeting drug trafficking and illegal possession of weapons. Police said cases have been registered against the accused and further investigations are underway.

In a separate operation targeting proclaimed offenders, habitual criminals and court absconders, police arrested two wanted suspects.

SSP Operations Islamabad Qazi Ali Raza said the police were taking comprehensive measures under the “No to Weapon” campaign against the illegal possession and public display of weapons, as well as aerial firing.

He said Islamabad Police would continue efforts to apprehend wanted and habitual offenders while ensuring the protection of citizens and their property.

The SSP Operations also urged residents to report suspicious activities to the nearest police station or the Pucar-15 emergency helpline, saying public cooperation was essential to maintaining security in the capital.
