LAHORE: Provincial Minister for Labour and Human Resource Muhammad Manshaullah Butt has formally launched the mobile application “Kapas Ki Pukar”, developed specifically to support workers and farmers associated with the cotton sector.

The application is described as a first-of-its-kind digital platform aimed at agricultural workers and farmers in cotton-producing areas. It will enable workers to register complaints and report workplace and other related issues directly through the app.

The initiative is expected to provide a particularly useful communication channel for workers in remote areas, including women workers, helping ensure that their concerns reach the relevant government authorities.

Addressing the launching ceremony, Provincial Minister Muhammad Manshaullah Butt welcomed the initiative and said that empowering workers through modern technology and establishing an effective mechanism for the timely resolution of their issues was an important need of the time.

He said that, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif, comprehensive measures were being taken to protect workers’ rights, provide them with essential facilities, promote dignified employment and strengthen social protection.

The minister congratulated the Pakistan United Workers Federation, relevant trade unions, workers’ representatives and the entire team involved in developing the application.

He said “Kapas Ki Pukar” would serve as an important milestone in strengthening coordination among workers, trade unions and government institutions, while helping ensure more effective and timely resolution of workers’ complaints.
