LCCI President, Iranian Consul General Inaugurate Wall of Iqbal at LCCI

LAHORE: The Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has established a Wall of Iqbal and an Iqbal Corner to promote the thoughts and message of the Poet of the East, Allama Muhammad Iqbal, among the younger generation.

The Wall of Iqbal was inaugurated by LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol and Iranian Consul General Mehran Movahedfar. LCCI Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh, Vice President Khurram Lodhi, former presidents Mian Anjum Nisar and Muhammad Ali Mian, former Senior Vice President Khalid Usman, former Vice President Adnan Khalid Butt, Convener Tahir Anjum and other officials attended the ceremony.

The Wall of Iqbal has been established alongside the main entrance of the Lahore Chamber, while the Iqbal Corner has been set up in the LCCI’s main library.

The Wall of Iqbal showcases Allama Iqbal’s message, thoughts and philosophy, while the Iqbal Corner has been designed in accordance with modern architectural requirements.

The initiative aims to introduce businesspeople, young people and students visiting the Lahore Chamber to Allama Iqbal’s philosophy and promote his message among them.

Speaking at the ceremony, LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol said Allama Iqbal had given the younger generation a message of selfhood, knowledge, action and hard work, which continued to provide guidance for the development of society and the country.

He said young people in the present era needed confidence in their abilities, a commitment to acquiring knowledge and a focus on practical efforts, adding that Iqbal’s philosophy provided valuable guidance in these areas.

Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol said the establishment of the Iqbal Corner at the Lahore Chamber was a practical initiative aimed at taking Iqbal’s philosophy to the younger generation.

He said the Wall of Iqbal and Iqbal Corner would not only highlight Allama Iqbal’s personality and philosophy but also provide visitors to the Lahore Chamber with an opportunity to learn about his message.

Iranian Consul General Mehran Movahedfar said Allama Iqbal was a great thinker and poet whose message continued to guide the younger generation.

He said Iqbal’s message was not confined to Pakistan but held significance for the wider region. He added that Allama Iqbal had promoted the values of selfhood, knowledge, unity and awakening, and that his thoughts continued to provide guidance to societies.

Mehran Movahedfar described the establishment of the Wall of Iqbal and Iqbal Corner at the Lahore Chamber as a valuable initiative for highlighting Allama Iqbal’s message.

He said such initiatives could play an important role in connecting the younger generation with Iqbal’s thoughts and philosophy.
