An online petition calling for pop star Pink to be removed as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador has gathered more than 165,000 signatures. The Change.org petition demands UNICEF reconsider her role. The campaign began after rapper Macklemore made pro-Palestinian statements and Pink responded on social media. Macklemore had chanted “Free Palestine” and spoken about the situation in Gaza in solidarity with Palestinians while performing at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey during Ed Sheeran’s “Loop Tour,” after which he was dropped from the remaining U.S. dates of the tour.
Pink faced backlash after resharing a post criticizing Macklemore’s pro-Palestinian comments, with some questioning whether her remarks were consistent with her role as a UNICEF ambassador. The petition, launched September 16, 2026, argues that UNICEF ambassadors should represent children’s rights and humanitarian principles regarding children affected by conflict. However, signatures alone do not automatically result in her removal, and UNICEF has not made any formal announcement on the matter.
Spanish actor Javier Bardem also backed the campaign, sharing petition-related posts on his Instagram Stories on September 21, drawing further global attention to the issue. Macklemore later announced he would donate his roughly $1 million in tour earnings to Palestinian aid organizations.
