LAHORE: Punjab Minister for Law Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan has said that providing clean and safe drinking water to citizens is among the government’s top priorities.
He expressed these views during a visit to Mamun Kanjan, Faisalabad, where he inaugurated a reverse osmosis (RO) water filtration plant aimed at providing safe drinking water to the local population.
Speaking on the occasion, the provincial law minister said access to clean drinking water was essential for protecting public health and improving the quality of life. He added that the government was utilising all available resources to ensure the provision of this basic facility to the people.
Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan appreciated the private sector’s contribution to the clean drinking water project, describing the involvement of private institutions and philanthropists in public welfare initiatives as highly commendable.
He said the Punjab government encouraged philanthropic organisations committed to public service so that the private sector could work alongside the government to provide essential facilities to citizens.
The minister said that, under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, various initiatives were being undertaken across the province to promote public welfare, accelerate development and improve access to basic facilities.
He described public service and development as key priorities of the provincial government, particularly efforts to improve the living standards of ordinary citizens and address their problems.
He further said the government was committed to the development and prosperity of farmers, labourers and other segments of society. Providing essential facilities, improving economic conditions and completing development projects, he added, remained among the government’s foremost priorities.
Commenting on the country’s political and constitutional situation, Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan said there was no constitutional crisis in Pakistan and that matters were progressing in the right direction.
He stressed that efforts to promote national development, political stability and public prosperity should continue.
