TEHRAN — Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei has warned the United States and Israel that any new military or terrorist attack on Iran would trigger an immediate, impactful and geographically unrestricted response. He ordered senior commanders to update Iran’s target list and keep all relevant US and Israeli assets within reach of Iranian forces.
According to a statement carried by Iranian state media, Khamenei said that if enemies launch renewed attacks, Iran’s armed forces and people would determine the timing and conditions for ending the conflict. The warning was framed as part of Iran’s “maximum deterrence” strategy, intended to discourage further strikes.
Iran’s military also warned that renewed US-Israeli action could expand the conflict across a much broader region. Meanwhile, Qatari mediators held talks in Tehran and Doha aimed at restarting direct negotiations between Washington and Tehran, though no final agreement or ceasefire has been announced.
The Strait of Hormuz remains a central issue because any disruption there could affect global energy supplies and oil prices. US President Donald Trump has hinted at possible new action against Iran, while US officials have said Washington would remain open to a diplomatic solution.
