Doha (Staff Report) – Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi on the sidelines of the Emergency Arab–Islamic Summit convened in Doha following Israel’s September 9 attack on Qatar. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, along with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, also attended the meeting.
The Prime Minister conveyed Pakistan’s strongest condemnation of Israeli aggression, calling it a blatant violation of Qatar’s sovereignty and international law. Both leaders expressed solidarity with Qatar and described Israel’s actions as reckless and unacceptable.
Prime Minister Sharif praised Egypt’s proactive diplomacy during the crisis and underscored the importance of the Doha Summit in projecting unity among Muslim countries and pressing for accountability for Israel’s conduct.
Recalling his previous engagement with President El-Sisi at the D-8 Summit in Cairo last December, as well as their recent telephone exchanges, Prime Minister Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with Egypt, particularly in trade, investment, and healthcare.
The two leaders agreed to maintain close contact amid the evolving regional situation.
