Doha/Islamabad — Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has declared that Pakistan, as a nuclear power, will defend its sovereignty at any cost if challenged by any country.
In an exclusive interview with Al Jazeera, Dar warned that “Israel has become uncontrollable and is challenging the sovereignty of one Muslim country after another.” He stressed that the Muslim world cannot remain confined to issuing statements, cautioning that if concrete action is not taken, nations representing two billion Muslims will lose credibility in the eyes of their own people.
Dar underlined that Pakistan’s nuclear and missile program is purely defensive, aimed at safeguarding the country’s sovereignty. He reiterated Pakistan’s desire for peace but emphasized readiness to respond decisively if its independence is threatened.
The remarks come amid rising tensions in the Middle East following Israeli military actions in the region, which have drawn sharp criticism from several Muslim states.
