DIRECTV Sets Sights on Genre-Specific Streamers With Curated Packages Organized by Interest

In an ever-evolving streaming landscape, DIRECTV has made a play for genre-specific viewers, while continuing to accommodate those who want access to it all.

Best known for its Signature Packages (the service’s comprehensive live TV bundles), DIRECTV has introduced more targeted — and therefore, more affordable — Genre Packs. MySports ($64.99 per month) has 20-plus sports networks plus an ESPN Unlimited subscription. MyNews ($39.99 per month) has 10-plus channels focused on breaking news and information, with local channels included that vary by market.
