Rawalpindi,— The Pakistan National Heart Association (PANAH) organized a World Heart Day awareness walk in front of the Rawalpindi Press Club, drawing strong participation from civil society representatives, students, teachers, health professionals, and members of the media. Participants carried placards and banners highlighting messages on heart health and preventive care.
Addressing the gathering, PANAH President Maj. Gen. (R) Masood ur Rehman Kayani emphasized the importance of lifestyle changes to prevent cardiovascular diseases. He urged the public to adopt regular exercise, avoid unhealthy diets, manage stress, and undergo routine medical check-ups.
General Secretary of PANAH, Sanaullah Ghumman, reaffirmed the association’s commitment to protecting Pakistanis from heart diseases, stressing that the awareness walk was part of an ongoing nationwide campaign to promote preventive measures. He called on the government to introduce stricter regulations to curb the consumption of unhealthy food, describing it as a major contributor to cardiovascular illnesses.
Other speakers also highlighted the urgent need for preventive strategies, underscoring that a healthy lifestyle remains the cornerstone for reducing the burden of heart disease in Pakistan.
