KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Malaysia on Sunday for an official visit, where he was warmly received by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim upon his arrival in Kuala Lumpur.
Prime Minister Shehbaz was accorded a royal protocol and escorted to his residence, where Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim personally welcomed him.
Speaking on the occasion, Shehbaz Sharif said he was delighted to visit Malaysia and expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by his Malaysian counterpart. He noted that the visit would further strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and Malaysia.
The Prime Minister is visiting Malaysia at the invitation of Anwar Ibrahim. During the visit, the two leaders are scheduled to hold high-level talks to review the entire spectrum of bilateral cooperation and exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
Delegation-level discussions will also be held between the two sides, focusing on trade, investment, education, technology, and people-to-people exchanges.
A series of agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) aimed at enhancing cooperation in various sectors are expected to be signed during the visit.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Fatemi.
