U.S. Strategic Metals (USSM), a Missouri-based company specializing in the production and recycling of critical minerals, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Pakistan’s Frontier Works Organization (FWO) at the Prime Minister’s House in Islamabad.
The signing ceremony was attended by Embassy Islamabad’s Acting Deputy Chief of Mission Zach Harkenrider, while U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker hailed the agreement as “yet another example of the strength of the U.S.-Pakistan bilateral relationship that will benefit both countries.”
USSM focuses on minerals deemed essential by the U.S. Department of Energy for use in advanced manufacturing and energy production. CDA Baker stressed the strategic importance of such agreements, noting that the U.S. administration has prioritized securing critical mineral resources vital to national security and economic growth.
“We look forward to seeing future agreements between U.S. companies and their counterparts in Pakistan’s critical minerals and mining sector,” Baker added.
