Lahore/Multan/Bahawalpur — Severe flooding has been reported at Head Panjnad on the Chenab River in Pakistan’s Punjab province, where water levels have surged once again after showing signs of decline in recent days.
According to the Flood Forecasting Division, water flow at Head Panjnad has crossed 668,000 cusecs, with floodwaters moving downstream toward Samka Chachran.
Officials noted that while outflow levels had decreased over the past three days, water levels began rising again late last night, prompting renewed concern.
Meanwhile, at the Taunsa Barrage on the Indus River, nearly 200,000 cusecs of floodwaters are also flowing toward Samka Chachran, adding further pressure to the flood management system in southern Punjab.
