On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, emergency measures have been intensified to provide safe drinking water to flood-affected communities across the province.
According to the Housing Department, the Punjab Saaf Pani Authority has so far distributed 1.73 million liters of clean water, benefiting more than 577,000 people. On Sunday alone, 155,900 liters were supplied to flood-hit areas.
A Housing Department spokesperson said district administrations and the Saaf Pani Authority are working jointly to ensure swift relief. “Providing safe and germ-free water to the affected population is our top priority, and all available resources are being utilized to maximize assistance,” the spokesperson added.
