Lahore: The Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) has approved a development scheme and three position papers worth Rs3 billion in its 31st meeting, chaired by Chairman Planning and Development (P&D) Board Dr. Naeem Rauf.
The approved projects include the establishment of an Environment Protection Force in 10 zones of Punjab at an estimated cost of Rs2.9 billion. Other initiatives cover the digital enumeration of linear plantations, strengthening of the PM&E Wing of the Forest Department, and the creation of a Program Management Unit for tourism promotion and business development, with IT interventions.
The meeting was attended by P&D Secretary Rafaqat Ali, Chief Economist Masood Anwar, board members, and other senior officials.
