LAHORE — Sarfraz Chaudhry, Additional Director of Pakistan’s National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), has denied media reports suggesting his suspension, clarifying instead that he has been transferred to Islamabad.
Chaudhry, who rose to prominence after leading the arrest of popular YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, known as “Ducky Bhai,” in a gambling app promotion case, said he has proceeded on six months’ leave following his transfer.
> “I have not been suspended. My narrative remains aligned with the state’s narrative, and I will continue my mission against crime,” Chaudhry said in a statement issued to local media.
Reports earlier claimed that Chaudhry was suspended after initiating action against social media influencers. He was also preparing to issue notices to TikTok star Jannat Mirza and model Mathira over similar allegations.
The NCCIA has appointed a new officer to take charge in Lahore following Chaudhry’s move to Islamabad.
