Islamabad,— Pakistan’s Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced Tuesday that the crescent for Rabi al-Thani 1447 AH was not sighted anywhere in the country.
Committee chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad said after a nationwide meeting in Islamabad that testimonies from across Pakistan did not confirm the sighting of the new moon.
As a result, the Ministry of Religious Affairs issued an official notification declaring that Rabi al-Thani will commence on Thursday, September 25.
