LAHORE: The Punjab Counter Narcotics Force (CNF) has intensified operations under the vision of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for a “drug-free, healthy, and safe Punjab.”
Officials reported that in a single day, seven operations were carried out in Lahore, Rawalpindi, and Faisalabad, leading to the arrest of suspected drug traffickers and the recovery of 7.8 kilograms of hashish, 1.3 kilograms of heroin, 6.64 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, along with four weapons and 150 rounds of ammunition.
According to the CNF spokesperson, the crackdown reflects the force’s determination to dismantle entire narcotics networks across the province. In recent weeks, operations have yielded more than 55 kilograms of hashish, nine kilograms of opium, 28 kilograms of cannabis, nearly three kilograms of heroin, and over 11 kilograms of crystal meth, alongside 15 weapons and 1,000 rounds of ammunition. At least 68 suspects have been arrested and 30 cases registered during this period.
Since the introduction of the Punjab Control of Narcotics Substances Act 2025, the CNF has conducted more than 60 operations province-wide. Authorities say the drive is aimed not only at intercepting drug consignments but also at safeguarding schools, residential areas, and transport routes from traffickers.
The CNF reaffirmed that the crackdown will continue “with full momentum” to secure a drug-free future for Punjab’s youth.
