Arora Pays Tribute to Sacrifices of Minorities in Defence of Pakistan

Lahore — Punjab Minister for Minorities Affairs, Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, paid rich tribute to the contributions and sacrifices of Pakistan’s minority communities at a launch ceremony organized at FC College, Lahore. The event, which highlighted the role of minorities in the defence and nation-building of the country, was attended by eminent dignitaries from the military, civil society, and academia, including General (R) Nadeem Raza, former Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, and General Noel Khokhar.

In his keynote address, Minister Arora emphasized that “no minority in Pakistan has ever taken an anti-state stance. Minorities are safe, respected, and provided equal opportunities to flourish.” He lauded their sacrifices for the security, defence, and integrity of the country, underscoring their loyalty and commitment across both the battlefield and diverse spheres of national development.

Minister Arora praised Field Marshal Asif Munir’s initiative Marka-e-Haq as a symbol of sacrifice in defence of the nation. He further appreciated the Punjab government’s reforms under the Chief Minister, such as the Minority Card and the Internship Program, describing them as progressive measures that reflect a strong commitment to equality, inclusion, and social justice.

Highlighting the integral role of minority communities in Pakistan’s social fabric, the Minister stated: “Our Chief Minister has been actively promoting the values of equality, diversity, and inclusion, ensuring that all citizens enjoy dignity and respect, irrespective of their faith or background.”

Other speakers at the ceremony also acknowledged the historic contributions of minorities in strengthening Pakistan’s foundations and reaffirmed their position as proud and patriotic citizens.
