According to Indian media, the petition called for a ban on the September 14 fixture, arguing that the match should be declared “unconstitutional.” The petitioner also requested the court to hold an urgent hearing on the matter.
The Supreme Court, however, rejected the plea for immediate intervention, observing: “What is the urgency in this? Nothing can be done at this stage. The match should go ahead.”
