Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has instructed the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) to form a cabinet independently and keep it limited in size, according to statements made by his sisters following a meeting with him on Monday.
Speaking to the media at Dahgal Checkpost after meeting the former Prime Minister, Imran Khan’s sister Uzma Khan said that Imran Khan had advised party leaders to file petitions in the High Court and Supreme Court to secure permission for future meetings with him, a message also conveyed to senior lawyer Salman Akram Raja.
Uzma Khan added that during the meeting, she briefed Imran Khan on the recent PTI gathering in KP, which reportedly pleased him. “When we told him that people were demanding a long march, he smiled,” she remarked.
According to Uzma Khan, Imran Khan clarified that he had not proposed any specific names for the provincial cabinet, granting full authority to the Chief Minister to select his own team.
She further stated that the PTI founder expressed concern over delays in the issuance of notifications for the appointments of Allama Raja Nasir Abbas and Mehmood Khan Achakzai, and questioned the removal of Ahmed Chattha and Bilal Ejaz, referring to them as his “old companions.”
Imran Khan also directed party representatives to immediately file contempt of court petitions and to remain in the High Court until a hearing date was set.
Following their statements, Imran Khan’s sisters left the location without taking further questions from journalists.
