Lahore: Inflation in October 2025 rose more than projected by the Ministry of Finance, according to the latest monthly report released by the Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS).
The report shows that the monthly inflation rate increased by 1.83% in October compared to September, while the annual inflation rate for the month climbed to 6.24%. This exceeded the Ministry of Finance’s forecast, which had projected inflation to remain between 5% and 6%.
From July to October 2025, the average inflation rate was recorded at 4.73%, compared to 5.6% in September.
The report further noted that rural areas experienced a sharper increase in prices, with inflation rising 2.26% month-on-month, while urban inflation grew by 1.54% during October.
On a yearly basis, the annual rural inflation rate stood at 6.59%, compared to 6% in cities, reflecting continued price pressures in food, transport, and essential goods across the country.
