ISLAMABAD (International Desk) — Pakistan’s Finance Minister and senior PML-N leader Ishaq Dar has announced that the government will take all coalition partners into confidence before moving forward with the proposed 27th Constitutional Amendment.
Speaking to reporters, Dar said the government intends to introduce the amendment first in the Senate, ensuring that the final draft is presented strictly in accordance with the Constitution and the law.
He emphasized that the government is functioning in full coordination with its allies and that all matters related to the amendment will remain transparent and consultative.
Rejecting speculation of external influence, Dar asserted that “the 27th Amendment is not being parachuted from anywhere; it is an initiative of the government itself, and all stakeholders are on board.”
The minister further underscored the importance of filling the vacant position of Leader of the Opposition in the Senate as soon as possible to maintain parliamentary balance and effective legislative functioning.
