LAHORE — Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. Usman Anwar has reaffirmed his commitment to providing the best possible medical treatment to police personnel injured while performing their duties.
As part of these ongoing efforts, the Punjab Police has released an additional Rs 2.25 million to cover medical expenses of injured personnel from Lahore and other districts.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, Rs 500,000 each have been allocated to Constable Riasat Ali, Inspector Kamran Shehzad, and Constable Tajammul Aziz, while Rs 300,000 were provided to Constable Muhammad Adnan, Rs 200,000 to Sub-Inspector Umar Farooq, Rs 150,000 to Constable Muhammad Akhtar, and Rs 100,000 to Constable Abid Hussain to support their treatment.
The Compensation Award Committee, chaired by Additional IG Welfare and Finance Imran Arshad, approved the disbursement of funds.
> “Thousands of police officers and personnel have been injured while protecting the lives and property of citizens,” Dr. Usman Anwar said. “Providing the best medical care and ensuring the early recovery of our police heroes remains a top priority.”
He directed supervisory officers to ensure that no effort is spared in safeguarding the welfare and health of injured police personnel.
